Hi. Risa here.
Yes it is a wonderful place. 45 minutes from Auckland ferry terminal by ferry. You can spend whole day there. There are fun activities, such as native bird watching, Bush walk, beach for swim, and just chill out. There is guided tour for native walk/bird watching,which is very popular.
No shops to buy food or drink so you need to bring your own food.
If you want to experience new Zealand wild nature, then it is a place to go.
