I used to live in Castro. It's definitely a fun area, not to mention, it's safe surroundcute homes. I wouldn't say 'lively' around 10 as some cafes and stores are just starting to open. If you could, I'd visit around noon.

Uber is readily available in Santa Rosa. Also, there is a bus (Marin transit Bus) #101 runs between SF city and Santa Rosa. Downtown Santa Rosa is small, but there is a mall near the bus station, too. Bus is safe but if you are taking the bus to the SF city, make sure to get off 'after' 5th and mission.

You can fly from SFO (or Oakland) to Long Beach(LGB) or Orange Country (SNA)
From the airport, you can Uber to the hotel you'll be staying.

Do not fly to LAX.

Would the area around the pier be a good choice?

For the most convenience, Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf

③ I've listed the places I want to visit and the things I want to do for sightseeing in San Francisco . How many days would be ideal?

You should spend 3 days in SF to see major attractions.
You can easily spend all day at Cal Academy/Golden Gate Park.
Exploratorium and Museum can be done in a few hours.
There are other things I recommend - Golden Gate Bridge, Ferry Building, and Sausalito (Marin)

④ If you also want to sightsee in Silicon Valley, is it possible to see everything in one day?
In my opinion, there isn't much to see in Silicon Valley, so one day should be enough. You can take a Cal train from SF and back in one day.

As for the Disneyland, you should give youself at least 2 days so you can see California Venture part of the park.

Fortunately that's not the case any longer. SFO was never really affected by the US government shutdown. I traveled to Honolulu from San Francisco about a month ag,o and the TSA (securitcheckpointnt before going to the gate) had a short line. That said, I only waited 5 min going through the line.
I believe arriving 3 hours before your flight should be more than sufficient :)

Here are my recommendations.

1). Do not head WEST from Grand Hyatt. Keep in mind to walk towards EAST (towards the Bay/Ferry Building)

2). For lunch, I'd head to the Ferry Building (15 - 20 min walk from Grand Hyatt) where you can find shops to buy food, such as, Mexican food, Empanadas, Oysters, etc Some places offer seating, some don't but you can find places to sit outside while watching ferries go by.

3). For dinner under your budget, there are a few options near Grand Hyatt. Lori's Diner (Burger/old-shool American Diner theme) (corner of Powell/sutter) 1 blk from Grand Hyatt. (Powell is West of Grand Hyatt, but it is ok to walk there.) If you want Italian, I'd say Piccolo Forno in North Beach area. (near Transamerica Pyramid bldg.) North Beach offers vibrant 'Italian' atmosphere and you can even find cute cafe with Italian dessert.

Yosemite in late December is actually the perfect time to visit.

Depending on how much snow it gets, you can still do a short hike. Please keep in mind that if you are driving, you'll need chains on some parts of the road closer to Yosemite.

Hyatt Place is the closer option to the park, while Luma is a great alternative — a bit further but conveniently near the Ferry Building. The whole area has improved significantly over the past 10–15 years and is much more walkable during the day. At night, just stay aware of your surroundings as you would in any city. During the game itself, the streets will be buzzing with fans, which makes everything feel livelier and safer.
Speaking of fans — expect a colorful mix of Giants faithful and visiting team supporters. Dodgers fans travel well, so don't be surprised to see plenty of LA blue in the crowd too!
One essential SF tip: always carry a light jacket — a packable puffer works perfectly — no matter the month or how warm it feels midday. The bay breeze has a way of reminding you where you are. Enjoy the game! ⚾
