About the Division

The General Research Division serves as the central research hub in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. The collections are primarily focused in the humanities and social sciences and include literary and scholarly works in over 380 languages with a global reach, from the United States to Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Along with authoritative and scholarly holdings, the library collects many popular, idiosyncratic, and ephemeral materials such as genre fiction, comic books, and pamphlets.

The General Research Division staff welcomes research questions within the broad fields of humanities and social sciences. We're your first stop for navigating the Library's vast collection of catalogs, digital resources, and services. Our expert reference staff provides guidance on how to access our collections, while also sharing research methodologies and skills that aid independent research. We offer free reference services in person and by email, as well as research consultations tailored to your needs. Visiting for research? Email us in advance or schedule a consultation. 何かの学習やリサーチをする、ということを入り口の係員に伝えて入ります。それを準備しておけば入れることと思います。私の今調べた時点では観光客用のツアーというのは見つけられませんでした。明日土曜日にミッドタウンに行きますので尋ねてみますね。

訪問者は午前10時から11時にオープンアワーがあるということです。

Can researchers access the collection without an appointment?
The Library’s historic Rose Main Reading Room is open for research and quiet study, and to access the Library’s general collections. Visitors wishing to view the room are welcome to join our open hours from 10 AM to 11 AM.

NY市公認ガイドをしております。

自由に出入りできるのは月～土の10:00-10:50 となっています。
以降の時間なら、館内の無料のツアーにご参加するしかないでしょう。

ひょっとしてBANANA FISHゆかりの地巡りでもされるのでしょうか？

ニューヨーク公共図書館（Stephen A. Schwarzman Building）自体は10〜18時（日曜休館）ですが、Rose Main Reading Roomへ観光客が自由に見学できるのは10〜11時となっています。
（最終入室時間は10時50分）

この他に見学ツアーも1日3回開催されているので、館内を詳細にご覧になりたい場合はツアーへ参加されるのもおすすめです。

上記以外の営業時間内の利用については、Rose Main Reading Roomの入口の係員にご相談ください。
（自習などの目的であれば概ね入室できますよ）

10時から5:45までです。日曜日は4:45まて、7:45 まで空いてる日もあります(火曜日と水曜日)
